Introducing Open Mic Nights at the Hay River Youth Centre!
This event was created by the young people who took part in our Community Skills workshop this past November!
Open Mic Nights will be held on the last Saturday of each month and will be open to any youth performers aged 12-18. Performances can be music, comedy, drama, poetry reading or just about anything else! Sign-up sheet is located on the Community Board at the Youth Centre.
Adults are welcome, but must be accompanied by a youth (seriously, this was a rule they created)!
Partnered with Hay River Healthy Families Collective Kitchen, Mentor Meals is an exciting opportunity for families and youth to cook alongside mentors from our community. This program will help youth find new role models while sharing in the joy of preparing and enjoying a meal together.
Who: Families with children 0-11 and Youth ages 12-18 may register individually.
What: Cooking with mentors who are positive influences in the community.
Why: Build new skills, meet role models, and enjoy a mean together.
